Portsmouth Cathedral Residency – August 2023

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend of choral bliss in the beautiful cathedral of old Portsmouth. The community and clergy team of the cathedral welcomed us with open arms and we had the pleasure of providing the music for three Evensongs and the Eucharist service on Sunday morning. What a treat it was to sing in this ‘cathedral of the sea’, dating back to 1182 and with deep connections with the Royal Navy and the seafaring community.

Much fun was had in rehearsal and also out of rehearsal; what better way to spend a weekend than singing the delights of Leighton, Howells and Rossini, dining at many of Portsmouth’s fine eateries and spending time with choir friends!
